Craig-Cooper & Co act for global brands, award winning companies and private equity firms to deliver tangible value by assessing, acquiring, training and developing talent.

Our role is to help our clients build great companies by ‘unlocking’ and ‘delivering’ great people; this may be by training and developing internal talent or acquiring external talent.  

We do this by using our experience not only as Consultants, but as Executives.  We have founded, built, managed and sold businesses, invested in companies and hired, trained and developed people.  We know the importance and value of talent. 

Today, we provide our clients with four core services.  These services have a number of components and as every client and every person is different, we tailor our services to each client and each engagement.

ASSESSMENT

This service enables our clients to get a clear view of the talent and potential within their organisation.

We interview and assess the nominated individual(s) and provide a market led opinion on their current skills and any ‘skills gaps’ the individual may have for a new role.  This in turn provides a foundation upon which investment, career development and training can be considered, which we can support.

The benefit to the client is multiple and includes:

  • Increased retention of key staff who know they are being actively assessed and developed
  • A clear knowledge of the relative strengths of individuals
  • Reduced long term costs helping to minimise reactive, ‘spot hiring’

 This service is often called upon by clients who are:

  • Weighing up the relative strengths of an individual or team, possibly for promotion or a new position
  • Career planning for high potential Executives
  • Considering what training and development might be most beneficial for individuals and teams
  • Investors who are considering the current strengths of a team and need clear, market led due diligence

This service can be scaled to assess one person, a group of people or a team depending on the client requirement.

TRAINING

Frequently, our clients have the talent they need internally but that talent needs to be ‘unlocked’. 

Our training services work with clients to give individuals and teams the tools they need to grow. 

By investing in training, our clients are investing in their people and equipping them and their organisations to be more successful.  This is an invaluable aid in retaining key staff, attracting new staff at all levels and building value across the business. 

We work with the stakeholders to deliver a range of training.  We can also support our clients in the creation of content for presentations – we will help clarify and define what the message is as well as train and support on how to present it.

Typical training programs include:

  • Interview training (to enable our clients to get the very best from an interview and assess every candidate in an accurate, professional manner)
  • Presentation training (presenting to a Board, investor, colleagues or seminar)
  • Pitch training (new business presentations)
  • Workshops (we will help define the aims and outcomes of the workshop, support the creation of content for that workshop and facilitate it)

DEVELOPMENT

Our Development Programs focus on the longer term aspects of organisational and individual development.

This may be supporting our clients to align skills and expertise with commercial strategy or the ‘rounding out’ of individuals in preparation for their next role.

 

Organisational

Our Organisational Development Programs work with key stakeholders and HR Executives to support them in shaping the future structure of the business and identifying the skills and experience they will need to deliver the strategy.

This service is often engaged by clients who are going through a strategic review, an investment round or examining new markets (products, services or geographies). Each has a set of challenges and our Organisational Development work identifies how ready an organisation is to take on a new challenge while helping to bridge any gaps.

This work frequently enables clients to succession plan more effectively, improve the retention of key Executives and reduce hiring costs.

Individual

Our Individual Development Programs focus on those people who may have been identified as being ‘high potential’. Our role is to unlock that potential and prepare them for future success.

Training plays a part in that preparation but our Development Programs delivers a broader set of tools, giving an understanding and awareness which prepares the Executive for the next role. The service can be demonstrated in the old maxim that a company’s best Sales Director may not be the best General Manager in the future. We prepare individuals for the future and ensure that the success they have enjoyed is replicated in their next role.

This service is commissioned by individuals as well as companies and is a direct investment in the career development of the Executive.

For the company, this creates a tangible succession path that is being actively managed and developed. This significantly improves the retention of key staff, as well as having a positive impact on the wider team who are often keen to qualify for similar development, whilst mitigating the risk and expenses associated with traditional, reactive hiring.

For the individual, this prepares them for the next role by giving them the knowledge and experience that enables them to take on their next challenge with confidence.

OUR 100x3 PROMISE

As a professional search firm we provide our clients with confidence through the transparency of our service, our delivery and our completion.

We do this through three tangible promises that we refer to as our ‘one hundred by three’, or 100x3.

These three promises are:

  1. We will identify the top 100 people for every search.

This means that our clients can see the work that has been done on every search and take confidence from the thoroughness of our process.

  1. We aim to complete every search within 100 days, from client instruction to candidate agreement.

We work in an efficient and focused manner to ensure that we deliver the best candidates but also manage a professional, timely process.  This enables our clients to know what is happening and when, allowing them to plan their business accordingly.

  1. We will support the on-boarding and integration of each candidate for at least 100 days from their start date.

We develop strong relationships with both our clients and candidates during a search and actively support the ‘soft landing’ of every newly appointed Executive by ensuring we engage with both them and the client during the first 100 days.

In every engagement; quality is key. 

We will actively seek feedback from every client so we can learn and develop our services and people whilst supporting our clients more effectively on every occasion.
